This vulcanising press is of the
bridge type and is cast in a lightweight alloy with two steel
guide columns to prevent the top platen turning.
Pressure is applied manually using a tommy bar, which is also
cast in lightweight alloy.
The normal working
temperature of between 150șC and 165șC is attained in
approximately 50 minutes and indicator lamps signify
power is being supplied to the unit and whether the
platens are at the set temperature. The thermostat
controls the platen to ± 4șC of the set temperature.
